Assemblage of Brown and White Eggshells on Masonite Panel

Inspired by the work of local artists while visiting South Africa, I chose to use a natural element I disposed of almost daily—eggs. Using only brown and white eggshells, I was able to find enough variation in the brown shells to create the subtle shading needed to capture the fullness of the models breasts and belly. This piece was created for a show I had with another artist, Bonnie Goldberg, in which we celebrated the women we love to paint as a way to celebrate all women, everywhere.
