Small Works

May 5-29:  Small Works, Tapp’s Art Center, Columbia SC

After doing a lot of work on a larger scale, it was refreshing to create a small nude in a different waste material- eggshell- for inclusion in this show. For weeks, my family ate eggs for breakfast while I collected enough shells in different shades of brown to create the variety needed for the piece. I decided that because I was using eggs- the symbol of fertility- it made sense that the nude be pregnant.
